We believe that being a church in the area of Carlton also means having a responsibility to demonstrate the love of God, to the wider community in practical ways. We believe in the true Christian values of demonstrating care and compassion.
To fulfil this we have partnered with local businesses and charities to help projects in our community.
Our church and the Second Chance Charity Shop are drop off centres for the Carlton Food Bank.
13 million people live below the poverty line in the UK. Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on low-income. Trussell Trust Food Banks provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK.
In 2016/2017, food banks around the nation gave 1,182,954 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis. Rising costs of food and fuel combined with static income, high unemployment and changes to benefits are causing more and more people to come to food banks for help.
